This article covers the installation of the Airwall agent on systems running either Apple Mac or Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Note: The installation will require administrative user permissions to complete. If you do not have these privileges, please request your IT help desk complete the installation for you.
Downloading the Software
If you are installing on a Microsoft Windows computer, please do not use the express or unattended installer.
The ideal method of configuration is through invitation. This process sees the user emailed a token which will automatically configure the client. If you have received this token already, please follow the instructions contained within the email to activate the agent.
Whilst installing, however, there are three items for configuration within the installer:
- Conductor URL
- Invitation Code
All of these fields are optional. If you have an invitation as described above, please do not modify the configuration and complete the installation.
If a manual configuration is required, or you do not have an invitation, the following steps can be followed to complete the installation.
The conductor URL should have been provided to you by your site contact. If not, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the site you would like to connect to.
The port should always remain as the default: 8096.
Finally, the invitation code will remain blank.
Upon completion, the Airwall Agent should launch and produce an ID within a few seconds. Provide this ID to email@example.com to completed the onboarding process.
If no ID is generated, please refer to our Airwall Agent Troubleshooting Guide.
